Searching for Wholeness

with Byrdie Funk

Everyday we see messages, often mixed messages, around “being enough” and “self care”.  Honestly, what does it all mean? Where do we begin? For many, these words have become triggers—reminders of one more thing that we can’t seem to get right. Thinking about being enough and taking care of ourselves sounds great in theory but in reality, it’s another thing to add to our already daunting to-do list. Instead of finding rest in being enough, it’s causing more anxiety. We’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere and we need to find our way back to our own paths.

Join Registered Professional Counsellor and a Certified Daring Way Facilitator Byrdie Funk for new way of looking at ‘self-care’.

Thursday, September 19

6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Common, 38016 Cleveland Avenue

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Why we need to take ‘being enough’ off our to-do list.

  • How to begin your own self-compassion practice.

  • How to sift through all of the self-care and self-love gimmicks in our social media world.

  • How to find rest, comfort, and healing through leaning into our wholeness.

Byrdie Funk

Byrdie is a Registered Professional Counsellor and a Certified Daring Way Facilitator.  Byrdie’s passion lies in seeing people overcome the lies and self-limiting beliefs they have lived with for decades. She began her career with street youth in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) as a youth counsellor. While in the DTES, Byrdie had the privilege of walking alongside many youth as they learned and discovered that their existence in this world mattered and that they had a purpose. Although she loved this work, Byrdie was becoming increasingly passionate about working with men and women, from all walks of life, to heal from the shame in their lives. She believes that healing from our shame may just be the thing that will change not only our own lives, but also our families and communities, and ultimately, the world.

Byrdie works with clients one-on-one and in small group format, in person and online. She is also the co-founder of Restore Your Soul Wellness Retreats.
